Police recover heroin worth Rs 1.75 crore, arrest six accused

The accused have been identified as Shiv Kumar of Pakhowal road and Baj Singh of Tarn Taran.

The  police claimed to have recovered heroin worth Rs 1.75 crore with the arrest of six accused in different incidents on Tuesday.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (crime) Manjit Singh Dhesi said anti-narcotics and anti-illicit liquor smuggling wing arrested two from a checkpoint near Children Traffic Park on Monday and recovered 310 gm heroin from their possession.

The accused have been identified as Shiv Kumar of Pakhowal road and Baj Singh of Tarn Taran.

In the second case, police arrested two persons identified as Balwinder Singh Sodhi and Harpreet Singh alias Honey near Jalandhar bypass and recovered 30 gram heroin from their possession.

In another case, CIA staff 2 arrested Harpreet Singh and Baljinder Singh from Salem Tabri area and recovered 30 gram heroin from their possession.

The police have booked all the accused under sections 22, 61, 85 of the NDPS Act.
