The Inter-College Youth Festival,which began on October 21,was formally inaugurated at the Punjab Agricultural University on Friday. It marked the beginning of main stage events.
A colourful cultural procession,representing four constituent colleges of the PAU College of Agriculture,College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology,College of Basic Sciences and Humanities,and College of Home Science was taken out.
The procession presented the panorama of various themes such as natural resource conservation,spoilt brats of modern era,woman empowerment and India-Pakistan partition. Besides,competitions in folk song and solo dance were held.
Addressing the gathering at open air theatre of PAU,chief guest Dr N S Malhi,Vice-chancellor,Guru Kashi University,Talwandi Sabo,Bathinda,called upon the educational institutions to produce world-class citizens and good human beings who can serve their family,state and country.

College of Home Science stood first in cultural procession. While Jashandeep from College of Agriculture came first in solo dance,Sumita Bhalla from College of Home Science stood first in solo song.
