The Revenue Patwar Union of Ludhiana on Tuesday went on strike protesting against registration of an FIR against Patwari Jaspreet Singh for alleged corruption charges.
The strike came at a time when general public is running to the revenue offices for getting their works done regarding regularisation of colonies. The members of the union will not be going back to work till their demands are met, they have indicated.
The FIR was registered against Jaspreet Singh last week after Deputy Commissioner Rajat Aggarwal saw a CD recording in which the patwari allegedly took Rs 3,000 as a bribe and later gave the money back. After watching the CD,the DC got the FIR registered against the patwari.
