On pigeon hunt,boy stranded atop overbridge pillar,rescued

An adolescent boy got stuck on a high pillar of a rail overbridge while trying to hunt wild pigeons at Dhandari Kalan here this noon.

An adolescent boy got stuck on a high pillar of a rail overbridge while trying to hunt wild pigeons at Dhandari Kalan here this noon.

The boy was finally brought down with the help of a crane.

A few residents spotted somebody on the pillar when they raised the alarm. According to information,people initially thought that a miscreant had climbed up the pillar with an intention to damage it. Some people also allegedly threw stones so that the person would come down.

Later,the police was called in and the fire brigade was pressed into service to bring the boy down. After much labour of over one-and-a-half hours,the boy was finally brought down with the help of a crane.

Upon investigation,it was revealed that the boy,a migrant,climbed up the pillar with an intention to kill wild pigeons and eat them but could not climb down the pillar and got stuck. The boy was sent to the Civil Hospital for treatment as he was still in a state of shock.
