Founder director of Odissi Akademy,Delhi, she has featured on Discovery Channel in ‘Living Asia.’

On foreign students at her academy

“Dedication is what matters to me,while admitting students,At present,I have only 15 students and three of them have received national scholarships. It is an overwhelming feeling to see NRIs and foreigners show interest in Odissi, after seeing performances. A minimum of 15 years is required to become a professional in this dance form.”

On 25 years of being an Odissi dancer

“Journey was interesting, but the best part was performing in front of schoolchildren through SPIC MACAY. When one performs in front of children, one has to make it as interesting as possible for them to keep them engrossed. I was told that a lot of students in Ludhiana learnt various dance forms and so I decided to bring them on stage with me”

On performing in Punjab

“I came to Ludhiana, four years back, and now the city has changed a lot for good. I have already performed in Chandigarh,Patiala and Nabha in Punjab,Kurukshetra in Haryana, and Nahan in Himachal. I will also be visiting Amritsar.
