A nurse who went missing from Khanna was finally found in a Chandigarh hospital on Saturday. Reportedly,she had been working there for the past eight months since she went missing.
However,her foster mother registered a case on Friday and the police traced her within 24 hours.
The nurse,Ranjit Kaur,in her statement said that she ran away because she was fed up with persistent demands for money from her foster mother Kuldeep Kaur. She claimed her mother used to harass her when she denied giving money to her.
Earlier,the police suspected Harjinder Singh,an employee at Sidhu Hospital,Doraha,of kidnapping the nurse. The police had also registered a case of kidnapping against Harjinder Singh following the complaint of Kuldeep Kaur of Ahtiana village of Raikot. Kaur had worked as a staff nurse at Sidhu Hospital from 2011 to March 2013.
Khanna Senior Superintendent of Police Sushil Kumar said following the complaint,the police formed a team comprising DSP (Payal) Balwinder Singh,Inspector Amardeep Singh,Doraha SHO,and Sub-Inspector Harjinder Singh,incharge of CIA Khanna.
DSP Balwinder Singh said the nurse was traced to Hope Clinic,Sector 21,Chandigarh. The nurse told police that her foster mother used to harass her for money. She changed her mobile number and started living in Chandigarh, added the DSP.
The police will produce the nurse before the court.
