In a good news for industrialist associations who had been going for technical and business-to-business (B2B) meetings abroad, they can now get 100 per cent reimbursement for air tickets from the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) against the earlier provision of 75 per cent reimbursement.
To start with, 146 printers from across the country will be going to China, where the visit will be supported by MSME with 100 per cent reimbursement of airfare. Kamal Chopra, Chairman, International Relations, All India Federation of Manufacturers of Printers (AIFMP) and General Secretary of Offset Printers’ Association (OPA), stated he will be leading this group. The decision was taken in the first week of February in New Delhi.

Chopra said, “Our tour to China will be the first such visit where all the 146 participants need not pay their airfare. Professor Wang Yongsheng, Vice-Chancellor, Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication, has invited the association to visit the Print China 2015 Exhibition at Dongguan (China). The visit, proposed to be undertaken from April 9 to 17, aims to study the print education system in China.”
Chopra stated that the MSME has already sent them the circular regarding the full sponsored airfare, adding that entrepreneurs visiting exhibitions abroad will help them to adopt the latest technologies.
Gurmeet Singh, Kular, president, Federation of Industrial and Commercial Organisation(FICO), also confirmed the same and welcomed the decision of the Centre to boost MSME through this step. He said, “A group of 22 industrialists are going to Germany on April 12 to attend an exhibition on cycle parts. If MSME bears 100 per cent of the airfare, more industrialists will be encouraged to visit abroad and enhance their knowledge. “
However, to implement the same, the Government of India had to cut down on the miscellaneous expenses previously incurred by the associations, such as hiring an interpreter and taking some print material along.
Avtar Singh, president, Chamber of Industrial and Commercial Undertakings(CICU), also welcomed the step.
