The Department of Applied Sciences,Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College organised a national seminar on Problems in Communication on its campus here today. The seminar was inaugurated by Vikas Garg,Deputy Commissioner who observed that communication is the urgent need of human beings but one must ward off the facts and factors that become problematic in the meaningful communication between individuals and nations.
Earlier,Dr TS Anand,the organiser of the seminar, introduced the theme of the seminar by referring to the bottlenecks which hamper the process of communication between individuals, organizations and nations. The Resource Persons,Dr Pashupati Jha,IIT Roorkee,Dr Nandini Sahu,IGNOU,New Delhi,Prof RK Bhushan and Prof Aashoo Toor-Gill were introduced to the audience.
Principal Dr MS Saini read out the welcome address in which he referred to the dynamic young Deputy Commissioner and his various accomplishments in personal and professional spheres. Dr Saini,in his address,referred to the rapid strides made by the college over the years,with its alumni making it big at international and national levels.
Dr Pashupati Jhas presentation was marked by incisive insights into the dynamics of communication. Dr Nandini Sahu in her scholarly speech,underlined the importance of communication in personal and professional spheres. Prof RK Bhushan elaborated upon his multifarious experiences as a creative poet,critic and teacher of various brands of literature. Prof Aashoo Toor-Gill in her short and significant presentation highlighted the significance of communication skills,and bemoaned the loss of humanities in the technical courses.
