Murder case solved,one held

The police claimed to have solved the murder of Sarabha Nagar-based hair dresser Jeevan Mattu,who was shot dead in April 2009,on Thursday.

The police claimed to have solved the murder of Sarabha Nagar-based hair dresser Jeevan Mattu,who was shot dead in April 2009,on Thursday.

Addressing the media,ACP Narinderpal Singh Ruby said,“We have arrested Suresh Kumar,who was wanted in this case,and also recovered the 315 bore pistol used in the crime. Kumar is a resident of Ramdas Colony and was arrested from near the Gill railway station. He is a part of the notorious Mika Mani gang and is also wanted in murder of sarpanch of the village,Charan Singh. Kumar,along with gangsters like Harpreet Singh Mika and Mandeep Singh Gosa,has committed many crimes and FIRs against them have been pending in Ludhiana ,Sudhar and Amritsar.”

Matoo had received bullet injury after Kumar opened fire outside the latter’s saloon. He was rushed to the DMC and H,where he died a day later.
