Man held for raping 13-yr-old daughter

Medical report confirmed the girlss pregnancy

Charanjit Singh,40,an electrician was allegedly raping his own 13-year-old daughter for past three months. However,the incident came to light only after she was confirmed pregnant.

Police on Saturday arrested the accused based on a complaint registered by the mother and aunt of the girl.

A case under Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 4 of Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012 was registered.

As per statement given by the mother,she works at a factory and used to leave her daughter at home to take care of the household work. A student of class VII she also took care of her siblings.

Late on Friday when she came back home she found her daughter weeping.

On insistence she narrated the whole incident. Medical tests done on Saturday confirmed pregnancy.

Sub-inspector Joginder Singh from Salem Tabri police station confirmed that the accused,a resident of Prem Nagar on Jassian Road,has been arrested.
