In his complaint to the police,Sandeep Singh,in his mid-20s,said around 6 pm on Wednesday when he was riding to Chandigarh with Prabhjot Kaur,a resident of Ludhiana,the youths parked motorcycles and blocked their way.
“They started molesting her and when I opposed,they assaulted me and criminally intimidated us before fleeing the spot,” Sandeep told the police.
On the basis of the motorcycle number,the police have identified the accused as Harmandeep Singh of Niashehar village and Binder Singh of Gabbemajra village in Kharar and booked them under Sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt),341 (wrongful restraint),354 (assault or criminal force on woman with an intent to outrage her modesty),506 (criminal intimidation) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the IPC,said Investigating Officer Assistant Sub-Inspector Jagir Singh.
No arrest was made till the filing of this report. Sandeep and Prabhjot run a consultancy firm at Sector 44-C in Chandigarh.
