A student from Jammu & Kashmir died under mysterious circumstances at Cordia Group of Institutes of Sanghol in sub division Khamano of Fatehgarh Sahib on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Mudassar Khan, a resident of Anantnag. He was B.Sc final year student and was to leave for home after his exams in June.
The college authorities told police that the deceased studied late with his friends Saturday night. On Sunday morning, according to the authorities, there was heavy thunderstorm and he went to open the door of his room. His hand allegedly slipped and he banged his head on the wall behind. His head was severely injured and he was rushed to the Civil Hospital, Khamano. He later succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.
Assistant sub inspector Harminder Singh, Sanghol police checkpost, said, “Family of the deceased has been informed and they will reach Monday. The body has been kept at the hospital’s mortuary. We are waiting for his family to record their statement for further action.”
