The star cast of the upcoming Punjabi flick Jatt and Juliet 2 visited the city on Wednesday and held late-night music shows at the main market in Sarabha Nagar and Lodhi Club,sending Ludhianas youth into raptures. Cameras and smartphones clicked away as Diljit Singh and Neeru Bajwa sung songs from their upcoming film.
The film cast and crew,however,clarified that film is not a sequel to Jatt and Juliet but a completely different film with a fresh story. The cast of the film which includes Punjabi singer-cum-actor Diljit Singh and actress Neeru Bajwa,had to pass through huge crowds at Urban Hara,Sarabha Nagar before addressing the press. They said that the plot revolved around a Punjab cops (played by Diljit) travails in Canada,where he meets a Canadian cop (played by Neeru Bajwa) and what follows is a love story with loads of comical moments.
Asked if he would like to work in Hindi films,Diljit Singh said: Whatever offers I get from Bollywood are of side roles or humorous sardars just because I wear turban and that is not acceptable to me. I will prefer playing leads in Punjabi movies.
The duos Jatt & Juliet which released in June last year became the highest ever earning movie in Punjabi cinema. Jatt & Juliet 2 will release this Friday with 500 prints all over the world and also has comedian Bharti Singh playing a role in it. Directed by Anurag Singh,its three songs have been sung by Diljit Singh himself and Sukhwinder Singh too has sung songs in the movie.
