Early detection is the key to cure cancer. This was stated by Dr Jaineet Sachdeva,head,Radiation Department,CMCH,during an awareness camp organised by Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Management & Technology (GGNIMT),Civil Lines,and GGN College of Pharmacy on Tuesday.
Dr Sachdeva spoke in detail about the breast,cervix and ovarian cancer. She said cancer was the second most common disease in India,and listed the early signs and symptoms of the women-specific cancer. She said early detection of the disease resulted in 100% survival.
Explaining the causes of cancer,she said that the changing lifestyles,increasing pollution levels,changing sexual habits,unhealthy food habits and lack of physical exercise were some of the key contributors to cancer. She advised the students not to lose their touch with what was once called a healthy lifestyle.
