In a major setback to markets established in Sarabha Nagar, Rani Jhansi Road, BRS Nagar and SBS and others, the high court has directed the authorities concerned to take necessary action against the violators who have illegally changed the land of use.
It is to be noted that in these markets shopkeepers are running commercial ventures converting land use without MC permission. The civic body also issued notices to shopkeepers in Sarabha Nagar but no action was taken and local bodies also hinted of regularising these establishments but nothing happened.
While disposing the PIL, the HC directed MC commissioner and Ludhiana Improvement Trust to decide within 15 days that who will take action against the violators and then take necessary action in accordance to law.
