Graft complaint against ASI, reader of EO wing

They approached the EO wing so as to get possession of the jewellery through court as a police report was to be presented.

Umesh Kumar, a resident of Aggar Nagar, on Friday submitted a complaint to Police Commissioner Parmod Ban complaining that one ASI and reader of economic offences (EO) wing were blackmailing them and had demanded Rs 3 lakh to settle an old case.

Kumar said that in July 2013, an FIR was lodged against his brother Raman Garg as there was a raid on their jewellery shop in which gold and diamond jewellery was confiscated. They approached the EO wing so as to get possession of the jewellery through court as a police report was to be presented.

Garg alleged that these two employees took Rs 50,000 and later they got possession of the jewellery. However, later, the employees asked for Rs 3 lakh more to make the police case in their favour and when it was refused, they were threatened. Garg alleged that finally they gave them Rs 2 lakh, but now they were getting calls for more money. Therefore, they approached the police commissioner.
