Jagmohan Sharma, former district Congress president, and two others have been booked by the district police for an attempt to grab land.
The police has registered this case on the complaint of Harpal Singh,a Gurdev Nagar resident. SHO Kulwant Chand said that Singh had complained that he along with Sharma,Vipin Jain and Darshan Singh purchased this piece of land measuring 16,000 sq yds. It was a joint property. Sharma and the other two partners were trying to usurp his share too by putting up a gate at the land and initiating construction work.
Acting on the complaint,an FIR was lodged on Friday. Denying the charges,Sharma said that the police had tried to implicate him in false case.
Sharma said,The police did not even see the papers that I have. The land belongs to us and is registered in our name. No one bothered to hear our side of the story. I have requested the commissioner to get an inquiry done by an IPS officer. ADCP Swapan Sharma will now be conducting an inquiry into this case.
