Farmers to protest during Parliament budget session

Members of Bharti Kisan Union from across the country will protest outside Jantar Mantar in New Delhi during the budget session of Parliament. Members will protest against low MSP being given by the Union Government for crops among other issues. Ajmer Singh Lakhowal, president, Bharti Kisan Union, Punjab announced while addressing mediapersons in city.

He said that though they had earlier kept March 27 as the rally date but now they will do it during the budget session. The new date is yet to be finalised. Thousands of farmers across the country will take part in the protest, he added.

He informed that MSP of wheat and paddy cost more than Rs 1,600 per quintal but they are being given only Rs 1,300. We want the MSP hiked. The farmers will also protest loan waiver worth crores.
