Eid-ul-Zuha celebrated with great fervour in city

Namaaz prayers were offered at various places in city.

Eid-ul-Zuha or Bakrid was celebrated across the district with great fervour. Thousands of Muslims offered Eid prayers at the historic Jama Masjid in Ludhiana on Wednesday morning.

Congress MLA Bharat Bhushan Ashu attended the Jama Masjid prayers and greeted people.

Hazrat Maulana Habib-ur-Rahman,addressing the people from the Jama Masjid said that Muslims have sacrificed a lot to free India from the British rule and even today Muslims are ready to sacrifice themselves for the nation.

Hinting towards recent Hindu-Muslim riots in Muzzaffarnagar,he said that some anti-peace elements try to break the unity between the Hindus and the Muslims but we all should remember that India is a land of varied religions and culture and we all co-exist peacefully.

“India is a bouquet of varied religions,” he added. Namaaz prayers were offered at various places in city.
