The Faridkot deputy commissioner (DC) on Thursday called for the termination of services of adoctor posted at the state government-run dispensary in Pipli village. The doctor had remained absent from duty since January this year.
During a surprise raid conducted by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Mohan Lal on Thursday, the doctor,Simerjeet Singh Brar, was found absent from duty.
On inquiry,Lal came to know that the doctor had not come to the dispensary, which falls under the jurisdiction of the zila parishad, since January.
We had some information about this doctor. I had asked for surprise raid last month as well and the doctor was found missing from duty. At that time, our office had written to the director of rural development to take necessary action.
However, now we are told that the doctor has gone abroad and failed to inform our officer. In such a situation,we have recommended that his services be terminated,as he is not longer our employee, Faridkot deputy commissioner Ravi Bhagat said.
He added that locals in the area were facing difficulties. The residents of nearby villages, who come to this dispensary, have been facing a lot of problems because there is no doctor at the clinic to treat them. Such behaviour will not be tolerated, he added.
Meanwhile, similar raids were also conducted in Dhilwan Khurd,Ghugiani and Sukhanwala villages.
