After a poor show in the 2012 Assembly elections, disgruntled BSP workers and those who have been expelled will be meeting former UP chief minister Mayawati in the coming week.

“Workers will meet Behenji after Ambedkar Jayanti. No one is happy with newly appointed state president Gurlal Saila, former state president Avtar Singh Karimpuri and state general secretary Narinder Kashyap,” said Ramanjeet Lalli, the BSP candidate from Ludhiana East who has been expelled from the party, during a meeting at the circuit house.

Gurlal had recently announced expulsion of Lalli, but the latter says he does not accept him as president,so he is still a BSP worker.

Karimpuri had resigned as state president after

the poor show of the BSP in the elections. Later,he was appointed Punjab co-ordinator.

Lalli said it was being said the SAD provided funding to the BSP for contesting elections on all 117 seats, but none of the state leaders denied this baseless statement. Besides, the BSP failed to enter into an alliance with the PPP which would have been fruitful,

he added.
