Delay in disbursement of subsidy for last year’s China tour has resulted in controversy among two groups of United cycles parts and manufacturers association (UCPMA). The subsidy amounting to Rs 15.20 lakh for 51 members of the association had been credited in the account of UCPMA about 2 months back , but members rue that the disbursement has not been credited yet.
Gurmeet Singh Kular, former President UCPMA said that he has written to the Micro small and medium enterprises(MSME) to intervene in this matter.
Meanwhile UCPMA office sources revealed that though the amount had been disbursed, but they were waiting for a suitable date from Union Minister and Ludhiana MP Manish Tewari to personally disburse this amount in a function which will be arranged by the association.
President of UCPMA, Charanjeet Singh Vishvkarma confirmed that subsidy had come in their account but he denied that it came 2 months back and rather stated that the amount came in their account few days back only. He said, “Few members are creating a issue without any reason. We have distributed the cheques to few of the members already and the rest will also be given the subsidy amount before January 15 in a function where we are trying that Union Minister Tewari must come.”
Kular, however, said that the amount had been disbursed about 2 months back and it was not correct on the part of the association to hold the disbursement for so long.
As many as 51 members of UCPMA had gone to China last year for an exhibition and technical knowledge sharing under which MSME provides subsidy on the air fare of the members. Director MSME S S Dhillon said the amount had been sent in the account of UCPMA.
