Cong ticket aspirants woo Captain

Ticket aspirants today made all-out efforts to woo Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President Captain Amarinder Singh happy.

Ticket aspirants today made all-out efforts to woo Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) President Captain Amarinder Singh happy. Many ran on the stage one after another just to inform him about the number of vehicles he had brought to add numbers to rally. This led to huge congestion on the stage and mismanagement. Apart from this, supporters of a few aspirants were sure that they would get tickets.

Sources revealed that former Congress minister Malkiat Singh Birmi has even distributed laddoos among party workers in Shivpuri, announcing that he has been allotted a ticket from Ludhiana east.” “As of now,the ticket of not even Maharaja Sahib has been announced and what to talk of just another MLA. And moreover Ludhiana East wants a new face which can woo the voters and has a winnability factor. So the party high command will be considering all these factors,” said a senior Congress leader on condition of anonymity.

Apart from this Congress Councillor Bharat Bhushan Ashu had also arranged more than 400 vehicles to bring about 4,000 supporters. The supporters however were seen that they have come to support Ashu who will get ticket for sure. Ashu when asked about the same said,“Yes,I am a ticket aspirant. But let us see what the party decides. I want to contest from Ludhiana West. There is nothing like sure supporters have deep faith in us,so they say.”

Gurpreet Gogi, another Congress Councillor, was also equally upbeat; even he is also an aspirant from Ludhiana West. Punjab party unit in-charge Thakur Gulchain Singh Charak however said,“The one who is close to the masses and is doing hard work will get the ticket. So now it is the last chance to prove yourself. Tickets will be announced shortly. Make your last efforts now.” It needs to be mentioned that in Ludhiana Urban, candidates will contest from six constituencies and from each constituency more than six aspirants are there. Charak however said,“The ticket will be given to one only; so the rest must walk with the same enthusiasm to make the party win.”

Traffic chaos was huge on the entire Dugri Road today because the rally venue was near this road. The private vehicles which were hired to bring supporters had been parked on roadside itself thus adding further chaos.

MP Manish Tiwari and Leader of the Opposition Rajinder Kaur Bhattal had to be rude with the gathering twice because instead of listening to the speeches, they were busy sloganeering. They strictly asked them to be quiet for sometime.
