CII to start Traffic Warden project

This was announced by the Commissioner of Police Ishwar Singh in a meeting held with the CII Ludhiana Chapter.

Confederation of Indian industries(CII) and Police will shortly start a new project – Traffic Warden – in which the industries located on the Chandigarh Road and G T Road will depute a personal from their organization,who will be given special training by the Department and will assist the Traffic Police to manage traffic outside their premises and will also report to the Police,if he or she observe any doubtful activity or moment in their respective area. This was announced by the Commissioner of Police Ishwar Singh in a meeting held with the CII Ludhiana Chapter. A “Session on Industrial Safety” to address the key safety and others issues faced by the Industry and to improve industry-police Relationship was organised.

Ishwar Singh,Commissioner of Police,Ludhiana and Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police-2,Bhupinder Singh and Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police-4,Sushil Kumar along with Manjinder Singh,SHO Traffic Ludhiana joined the session as key speakers and interacted with the participating delegates.

During his address Ishwar Singh said that “Police Department and CII has been working closely with each others on various key issues related to the betterment of City. The Police and the industries should work together on security issues. In a city like Ludhiana where the majority of factory workers are migrants from other states,it become even more important that the Police-Industry coordination should be very strong,any new employee or workers hired should be verified first for his past record ,for this the concern Police Station in charge should be involved to get the his or her details,this will surly help in controlling crime,as in the past there were many cases ,where hard core criminals were hiding in Ludhiana by working in factories with their changed identity.

The factory owners should also take responsibility for educating their employees/ workers on Traffic Rules and Regulations for their own and other’s safety,for this Police Department has already designed a Book on “Road Safety Tips”,which they should distribute to all their workers,he added.

Ishwar Singh also requested factory owners to install High Definition- CCTV Cameras outside their factories,so as to help the police trace the criminals in case of any accident or incidents happen outside their factories. Any kind of industrial theft whether it is small or big,should immediately be reported to the concerned police Station.

CII representatives and representatives from Police Department had earlier visited Focal Point to identify key bottlenecks .

The Session received a very positive response as more than 50 delegates from Ludhiana based industry attended the session and interacted with the Police Team.
