Ludhiana district saw a pass percentage of 97% in class XII CBSE results declared on Wednesday. Of the 10,500 students who appeared for the exam, 5,500 were girls and 5,000 were boys.
Babita Singla from BCM Senior Secondary School, Basant City, scored 98.2% in commerce stream. She is also an all rounder with cycling, extempore and reading as her hobbies. She scored a perfect 100 in accountancy and economics, 98 in business studies and mathematics and 95 in English.
Karthikeya Shahi of Sacred Heart Convent School, Sarabha Nagar, topped non-medical stream with 97.4%. He scored a perfect 100 in mathematics, 98 in computer science, 95 in physics and 94 in English.
Gursimran Singh Anand, of Guru Nanak Public School Sarabha Nagar topped medical stream with 97%. Anand is also a cricket and basketball player. He scored perfect 100 in chemistry and 99 in Information Practices.
Tamanna Rai of BCM Ayra Model Senior Secondary School, Shastri Nagar was expecting a good score but not a district topper’s rank with 96.2%. Rai scored 100 in maths, 97 in sociology and 96 in economics. A painter, swimmer and a guitarist, Rai is daughter of a civil engineer. “I opted for humanities with maths as I had no interest in physics and chemistry,” said Rai.
Mass media and FMM
New stream also bore good results. Pragati Bhatia who topped mass media with 96.8% and is also a trained kathak dancer. He wants to pursue choreography and TV journalism.” Srishty Singla from Greenland Public School topped financial marketing management with 94.2%.
