BJP councillor booked for cheating

Charanjit Singh Gill,on whose complaint the inquiry was initiated,addressed the media with a copy of the FIR on Friday. “The police have confirmed in the inquiry that councillor has duped public by filing wrong information in nomination papers. Also,she possesses three dates of birth (all different on copy of passport,birth certificate and PAN card) and even the father’s name differs on all three documents,” he said.

The police have found that husband of councillor Rajesh Sharma too possesses two dates of birth on separate documents.

The inquiry has also found that while Renu in her nomination papers had written that “she has no car” and “has taken no loan”,a car Ford Endeavour and a loan of Rs 32 lakh from LIC and a car loan of Rs 5.8 lakh were pending against her.

Ranjit Singh,SHO,division number 8,said,“FIR was registered against couple on June 12.” Despite several attempts,the councillor was not available for comment. ens
