Local MP Ravneet Singh Bittu on Sunday claimed that “he is always accessible to people of Ludhiana”.
“I have been constantly blamed for not being accessible to hear problems of people but now I will always be available in this office. If I am not in city, then one of my representatives will always be present,” said Bittu, addressing the media in his newly opened office in Model Gram.
He said that “there is no need to reorganise the Congress committees at district level as they were formed by PPCC chief Partap Singh Bajwa himself”.
Ludhiana district Congress chief Pawan Dewan, considered close to former MP Manish Tewari, has always maintained distance from Congress MLA Bharat Bhushan Ashu and rivalry has been wide open.
Commenting on the issue, Bittu said, “We try to coordinate with district committees and its heads but we are making our own efforts also and they are doing their job. But there is no need to reorganise committees as they were formed by PPCC chief Bajwa recently.”
He said that the Congress was thinking hard on how to make a comeback as the Lok Sabha defeat was a major setback for the party as a whole. “It was a huge setback and now it is a do-or-die situation. We have to make a strong comeback and all leaders need to understand that it is time to stand united keeping aside personal differences,” said Bittu, when asked about brewing differences between PPCC chief Bajwa and MP Amarinder Singh.
