Beaten up by ‘policeman’,alleges woman teacher

Rachna Rani,a government school teacher,on Wednesday had complained that she was beaten up by a man dressed in police uniform near Jalandhar bypass when she boarded an auto-rickshaw.

Rachna Rani,a government school teacher,on Wednesday had complained that she was beaten up by a man dressed in police uniform near Jalandhar bypass when she boarded an auto-rickshaw. The man had a badge showing his name as Kashmir Singh.

The woman was rushed to the civil hospital.

Though the police registered an FIR against Kashmir Singh,they are yet to locate the accused. Salem Tabri SHO Dharampal said,“No one with this name is serving in and around Jalandhar bypass area. We are still checking the details. It seems that the man was posing himself as a police employee.”

The woman had complained that while she boarded the auto,a police employee came and asked for Rs 200 from the auto-rickshaw driver and when he refused,the police employee started beating him up. When she tried to intervene,she was also beaten up. She had come to buy groceries from a nearby store located on Jalandhar bypass.
