A day after registering an FIR against a 12-year-old boy for raping a 6-year-old girl, the overactive police on Thursday came to know it was not a rape.

On Wednesday,Jodhewal Basti police station had booked the 12-year-old boy for raping the 6-year-old girl and issuing threats following the statement of the victim’s father. Taking swift action, the police nabbed the boy and initiated investigation. On Thursday when the police took the girl to the civil hospital, the doctor clarified that she was not raped.

Embarrassed by the medical report, the police have initiated action to cancel the FIR registered against the boy. The earlier action was taken on a mere complaint by the girl’s father and the police did not wait for medical examination.

The complainant said he was a street hawker and used to sell cloths in streets while his wife worked in a hosiery factory. He alleged that the accused raped his daughter when he and his wife were out. Later, the accused threatened her not to tell anyone anything about the incident. However, the victim disclosed everything to her parents. Later, they made a complaint to the police.
