For the first time, auto manufacturers of Ludhiana had the opportunity to directly meet their buyers and sellers got to meet the large manufacturing units whereby they got direct suggestions and requirement of much-needed products. Ordinance vehicle factory Jabalpur,Northern railways, rail coach factory Kapurthala,Mahindra and Mahindra,Preet tractors and many others had come with their products and their demands. Nearly 80 small units of auto parts had displayed their products in a two-day meet which concluded on Friday.
The program was named National Vendor Development Program which was a joint effort by Micro,Small & Medium Enterprises Development Institute (MSME-DI),Ludhiana in collaboration with Auto Parts Manufacturers Association,Ludhiana.
S S Dhillon, director of MSME-DI said,It was the first effort to give a common platform for interaction between auto parts manufacturers with the selling units. It will be helpful for large buyers to identify other medium and small enterprises (MSEs) competent to supply quality products to them.
It will also provide opportunities to existing and new entrepreneurs for development of new products and diversification, added Dhillon.
G S Kahlon, president of Auto Parts Manufactures Association said,Earlier few auto parts units were making individual efforts but now majority have come under one platform,so many new units can get a chance to supply the auto parts to these large units.
Dhillon said that the Centre is aware of the severe constraints in managing enterprises under which MSE units operate. The sector is being provided support by the Centre to make them globally competitive and achieve success in the market, he added.
