A 32-year-old man,Mohammad Noor Alam,from Darbanga of Bihar,who was beaten up by one of his acquaintances on March 27,died at a hospital on Wednesday night. He was a tailor by profession.
The accused,Sadre,30,from Kundan Puri,was arrested on Thursday by the police,which added sections of murder to this case.
According to Mohammad Ras Alam,the brother of the deceased,Mohammad Noor was standing near Nullah Bridge in Guru Hargobind Nagar when Sadre came out from a drinking place,pounced over him,thrashed him with punches and kicks,and fled.
Ras Alam said he rushed his brother to Ram Charitable hospital,from where he was referred to CMC hospital on April 2,where he succumbed to injuries late on Wednesday night.
Inspector Vinod Kumar,division number 4 SHO,said Mohammad Noor had entered a scuffle with Sadre around Holi. The accused was under the influence of liquor.
The victim is survived by wife and three children who are in Bihar.
