A 21-year-old hotel employee was gang-raped in a moving car and dumped along the road here around 2 am on Sunday. Originally from Bilaspur in Himachal Pradesh, the woman has been working in Ludhiana for the past year.
The victim was returning from her friend’s place to her PG accommodation in Rajguru Nagar when the incident took place. The victim left the hotel at 6 pm and went for a hair treatment at her friend’s place. She was returning at around 1.30 am when she was pulled into a white Maruti car.
The victim told the police that she was only able to read PB-10 on the number plate as rest of the number was missing. She alleged that two of the three men raped her as the vehicle was driven around. The accused called each other Monu and Vicky and were provoking the third man to rape her, but he refused. However, later he too molested her, she told the police.
The accused dumped her near Rajguru Nagar B block and took out the memory card from her phone. Her friend, who had heard her screams from her terrace when she was pulled inside the car, had by then informed her employers who later found her near B-block. She was taken to the Civil Hospital where a medical examination confirmed rape.
