20-year-old dies in road accident

The motorcycle rammed into the mini-truck and following a powerful collision, he died on the spot.

A 20-year-old boy died following a collision between a motorbike and a mini-truck on the national highway near Ladhowal on Sunday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Simarpreet Singh of Bahadurke village.

He and his friend Anuj were going home on his motorcycle from Guru Teg Bahadur Charitable Hospital, Shastri Nagar, where Singh’s mother was admitted.

The motorcycle rammed into the mini-truck and following a powerful collision, he died on the spot.

In the incident, Anuj suffered injuries and was rushed to Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMCH). His condition is stated to be stable.

The Ladhowal police has registered a case of causing death due to negligence against the unidentified driver of mini-truck and initiated investigation for his identification.

Inspector Jaswant Singh, SHO, Ladhowal police station, said that before the collision with the motorbike, the mini-truck had hit a car.
