2 men rob newspaper employee of cash,mobile

Two unidentified men snatched the mobile phone and cash from one Sukhdev Singh,an employee of a vernacular daily from the Noorwala Road on Monday night.

Two unidentified men snatched the mobile phone and cash from one Sukhdev Singh,an employee of a vernacular daily from the Noorwala Road on Monday night. Singh is an employee of Ajit,a Punjabi daily.

He said the incident occurred around 9.30 when he was going towards his house in Bajrang Vihar Colony.

He was on foot and was stopped by two motorcycle-borne men when he reached Noorwala Road.

He added that one of the men was carrying a knife,while the other person had a pistol-like object. He was asked by the man carrying the knife to hand over all his possessions. Sukhdev added that when he protested,they tried to stab him,thus injuring him in the process. They later fled with his phone and cash.

Sukhdev said he could not note their vehicle number due to the dark. The police,meanwhile,have started investigations into the matter.
