Under the Election Commission lens and apparently fearing loss of votes for allegedly making derogatory remarks against a lady officer,Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav said he always respected women and gave them proper respect and place in the party. “I have never made any derogatory statement against anyone. As you know,I respect women. I have replied to the Commission on the issue,” said Yadav on Monday. According to Yadav, the party believed in giving special place and respect to women, irrespective of their caste. Offering nomination to women journalists,Yadav said he was ready to give tickets to them if they come forward. This entire issue was a “gift” of the electronic media which aired such news, said Yadav.
