A 35-YEAR-OLD woman and her three children were found hanging in their house at Sadiabad area in Ghazipur on Saturday morning.
The brother of the woman, Sushila, lodged a murder case against her husband, alleging he killed her and the children as his demand for dowry was not met.
While Ghazipur SP Umesh Chandra Srivastava said they are waiting for the postmortem report , Ghazipur city Circle Officer Atul Kumar Chaubey said Sushila committed suicide after hanging her children — Ashish (7), Aneesh (5) and Anil (2) — with separate bamboo ropes.
Moreover, while the SP claimed that Sushila and her husband — Rajesh Rajbhar — had an altercation over some family matter two days ago, Chaubey said they are yet to know whether Rajesh, a daily wage labourer, had entered in any altercation with the deceased, who was a cook at a primary school.
However, in his complaint, Sushila’s brother Desh Rajbhar alleged that Rajesh and his parents killed his sister and her children after they failed to fullfill their dowry demand. Rajesh and Sushila got married around 15 years ago.
Sadiabad Station Officer Rudrabhan Pandey said: “On Friday night, Rajesh and his parents were sleeping in the courtyard while Sushila and her children were sleeping inside. In the morning, Sushila and the children did not reportedly open the door. When Rajesh broke open the door, he found Sushila and the children hanging.”
