Hours before BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi held rally in Amroha, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav held a rally at Garh Mukteshwar in the same constituency and termed Modi as a ‘visitor’ in Uttar Pradesh.
Commenting over crashing of Hercules plane, Akhilesh claimed that a scam by concerned department in UPA government cannot be ruled out leading to the incident.
“Narendra Modi, even if wins or loses from Varanasi, will not be seen in UP. He is merely a visitor to the state. BJP is contesting elections on the support of corporate groups and media,” Akhilesh said. SP has fielded Humaira Akhter, wife of minister of state for Panchayati Raj Kamal Akhter from Amroha.
“If there is any wave favouring BJP, as the party claims, then why are their leaders shying away from contesting elections. The actual position of BJP will be revealed after polls, as there is no wave of BJP,” Akhilesh stated.
“BJP is using all means to come to power. For winning elections even criminals are being inducted in the party, people will give befitting reply to BJP in polls,” he stated.
In a war of election rallies, Akhilesh also held a rally at Baraut in Baghpat where Modi had addressed Saturday. Akhilesh also addressed another rally at Sikandara in Bulandshaher where Modi had addressed three days ago.
Akhilesh also raised fingers over the crashing of Hercules and two submarines. “Due to lapses on part of the centre fingers are being raised on Army. Army’s pride and ability has come under scanner. Government should clearly tell exact developments behind these incidents,” he said.
Akhilesh also stated that a scam in purchasing of materials for Army cannot be ruled out. “Perhaps, submarines and Hercules plane crashed due to sub-standard material, which has affected the morale of our Army,” he said.
“The UPA regime will be remembered for scams. People have lost count of the number scams like coal, 2G, Adarsh etc. Earliest this government is ousted, it will be better,” he added.
