The police said that the name of a former pradhans brother has cropped up during investigations. The former pradhans brother had apparently hired the three goons Munna (23),Akhilesh (22) and Sanjay Yadav (29) to kill the village heads 40-year-old husband Ram Kishan Bind. However, the villagers caught them after the motorcycle they were going on fell by the roadside.

Bind was riding pillion on his motorcycle, when he was shot from behind by the three accused. His aide,Mohammad Imtiyaz, who was driving the motorcycle, intercepted the motorcycle of the accused,as a result of which it fell by the roadside. The accused ran towards the fields in a bid to escape. However, the villagers caught them and beat them up badly, using sticks and other things.
While Munna and Akhilesh were declared brought dead,Sanjay succumbed to injuries in the district hospital. They were residents of nearby villages.
Bind, meanwhile, has been taken to a private hospital in Varanasi, where his condition was reported to be critical.
Preliminary investigations revealed that one Vinod Rai,brother of a former pradhan of Fateullahpur, had apparently planned the attack.
