Activist Nutan Thakur has lodged a complaint against Lokayukta N K Mehrotra, alleging that he conducted an “illegal” inquiry against her husband, suspended IPS officer Amitabh Thakur.
The inquiry, which Nutan alleged that Mehrotra conducted after “illegally taking over the investigation” into complaints against her husband, presented “false and incorrect report to harm me and my family members and to malign our reputation through half-baked facts”.

She has filed the complaint in the court of an additional chief judicial magistrate in Lucknow.
Claiming she has “enough evidence”, Nutan further alleged in her complaint that the Lokayukta did so “to please his political patrons” and also because she had lodged complaints against him for his “misuse of public plane for private tours to Jhansi and MP” and against ministers Azam Khan and Gayatri Prajapati.
The Lokayukta refused to comment, saying he was yet to see the complaint. He, however, added that he did not conduct any inquiry against Nutan or her in-laws.
Informing about the developments, Nutan said the court has fixed September 10 as the next date of hearing in the matter when she would also record her statement.
Last week, the Lokayukta had recommended that the state government order a probe by the CBI or the Enforcement Directorate into all the allegations, including that of amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income, levelled against Amitabh Thakur.
