Five-year-old boy hit by Uttar Pradesh minister’s convoy dies

The state government has announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the family of the deceased. The government also sought a report on the incident from the DGP and directed strict action against the culprit.

A five-year-old boy died on Saturday evening allegedly after he was hit by Uttar Pradesh minister Om Prakash Rajbhar’s convoy in Gonda district.

Confirming the incident to The Sunday Express, Additional Superintendent of Police (Gonda) Hridesh Kumar said, “Shiva Goswami died when he was hit by a vehicle in minister Om Prakash Rajbhar’s fleet in Colonelganj area of the city.”

The boy died on the spot. An FIR has been lodged on charges of causing death by negligence and rash driving, said Superintendent of Police (Gonda) Umesh Kumar Singh.
