Uttar Pradesh 2017 polls: DGP orders transfer of inspectors, S-Is

According to a police spokesperson, the DGP has also ordered the transfer of inspectors who have been posted in the same district for more than three years.

Following the EC directives as part of its preparations for next year’s Assembly elections, DGP Javeed Ahmad ordered the Superintendents of Police, DIGs and IGs to transfer inspectors involved in poll work from their home districts. According to a police spokesperson, the DGP has also ordered the transfer of inspectors who have been posted in the same district for more than three years. He also directed the officers to transfer all those sub-inspectors (S-Is )who are posted in their own Assembly segments.

Those S-Is who have been posted in the same sub-division for more than three years, will also be shifted. Those inspectors and sub-inspectors who are slated to retire in next six months, have been kept out of the exercise.

Ahmad has ordered that the process of transfers be completed within a week and a certificate about the completion of the process be submitted to the DGP headquarters by September 7.
