BJP Jan Swabhiman Yatras from Oct 13
Bharatiya Janata Party national vice-president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi,on Monday formally announced that BJP will start two ‘Jan Swabhiman Yatras’ in UP from October 13. He said that one yatra will start from Mathura and the other will start from Kashi (Varanasi). Talking to mediapersons at state party headquarters,Naqvi said the yatra from Kashi will be led by BJP national vice-president Kalraj Mishra, while the one from Mathura will be led by Rajnath Singh. He said the yatras are expected to end by October 21 and will be organised in such a manner that they do not clash with L K Advani’s yatra against corruption.
Asked if the BJP has lifted the idea of crusade against corruption from the movement by Anna Hazare,he said: Criticism on this front is actually a compliment for the BJP. Anna Hazare and Baba Ramdev started the movement which the BJP is taking forward, making corruption its agenda which no other party has done.”
