UP: Days after 2 teen rape victims’ suicide, father of one found hanging

Days after two teenaged rape victims were found hanging from a tree with their dupattas in a village in Kanpur district, the police Wednesday found the body of one of girl’s 50-year-old father hanging from a tree near his residence in Hamirpur district. No suicide note has been found yet, police said. The victims, along with their families, had gone to Kanpur seeking work.

SP, Hamirpur, Deeksha Sharma said on Wednesday, “On reaching the village, a police team came to know that the man’s daughter’s body was found in Kanpur recently,” said Sharma. The body has been sent for post-mortem.
