A 15-year-old Dalit girl was allegedly raped by a truck driver and abandoned in a forest nearly 10 km away from her home under Koraon police station area of Allahabad district, police said Monday.

While the incident took place Saturday evening, the victim’s father filed a police complaint Sunday, based on which two persons have been arrested, while a third accused, a minor girl and friend of the victim, is yet to be traced, the police said.

The absconding minor has been accused of luring the victim to accompany the truck driver in his truck. The accused is daughter of a PAC constable posted in Moradabad.

The police have registered an FIR under Section 376 of IPC, besides Protection of Children Against Sexual Offences Act and SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities Act) on the basis of a complaint lodged by the victim’s father against three persons — Kunwar Singh Patel (22), a resident of Devghat Village, Sahib Singh Patel, in his 20s, a resident of Alwa, and the minor girl, who was friend of the victim. The police have arrested Kunwar and Sahib.

As per the complaint filed by the father, the accused girl, a student of Class 11 at a village school, called his daughter, a student of Class 10 of the same school, to her home on Saturday. Thereafter, the girl went missing. When he inquired, his daughter’s friend claimed ignorance.

On Sunday morning, the father located his daughter in the house of a tribal in a forest on the UP-Madhya Pradesh border. Station Officer (Koraon), Suresh Saini, said: “The girl told her father that when she reached her friend’s house, Kunwar came there in a truck, accompanied by Sahib. The friend convinced her to take a ride with her in the truck. After a few kilometres, the accused girl got down on some pretext and asked her friend to go ahead with the duo. The truck was then driven to the forest area, where Kunwar allegedly raped the girl and left her there. The girl kept wandering in the area before she was spotted by a tribal family, who allowed her inside for the night.”

Superintendent of Police (Trans-Yamuna), Vijay Gautam, said: “It has also been alleged that the accused girl also gave some money to her. We have not yet been able to trace the girl and assess her role. However, victim’s father has named her in the FIR. A medical examination of the girl has been conducted. Further investigations are on.”
