The residents of Laxmanpuri in Ghazipur district Sunday held protests demanding action against Samajwadi Party MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh for allegedly occupying the land of the colony’s park and ordering construction work despite the matter being sub-judice.

The protestors alleged that Singh,a Lok Sabha MP from Kaiserganj, began construction work on about 9,000 square feet land of the park two days ago after forcibly occupying it,and is now restricting people from entering the park.

Additional City Magistrate Ram Kumar Gautam said the construction work has been stopped and police deployed at the park. He said the injunction submitted by the MP for the possession of the disputed land has been rejected by the court. The official added that the administration will ensure status quo at the park as ordered by the court. Singh was not available for his comment. PTI
