Power department employees were beaten up at Narauli police outpost — allegedly by Samajwadi Party workers — after they caught two men pilfering power at Jansoa village in Bhimnagar district and seized their pumpsets Thursday.
Soon after the employees went to the police post, along with the seized pumpsets,to lodge a complaint, around 20 men arrived and started beating them. With policemen remaining mere spectators, the Power department employees escaped in their jeep. The assailants took away the seized pumpsets.
