Demanding resignation of Union Coal Minister Sriprakash Jaiswal over his remarks against the Samajwadi Party government,SP leader and Cabinet Minister Shivpal Yadav on Saturday also took a dig at Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for shielding Jaiswal in coal scam.

Jaiswal, during a holi milan function in Lucknow, had said that the state governments fails to utilise Centre’s assistance. Jaiswal accused the UP government of misusing central funds for distribution of laptops and tablets. He had also praised the development work in Gujarat.

“The PM should ask Jaiswal to resign and should sack him if he does not submit his resignation. Jaiswal is tainted in coal scam and due to him the PM is also facing the heat,” Shivpal said. He also said that the PM should ensure that Jaiswal gets proper education and grooming so that he does not issue irresponsible statements in future. “Till he learns these things,he should be sacked from the cabinet,” Shivpal claimed.

Shivpal defended the SP government stating that every expenditure is done after proper budgetary provisions. “There is no misuse. Infact the Centre is releasing only 40 per cent of our due share. Still we do not comment on the PM. We also contribute to the central pool from our state,” he said.

Shivpal also said that some understanding has taken place between Congress and Gujarat CM Narendra Modi. “When Jaiswal is praising Gujarat’s development,it reflects that there is some understanding between both of them,” he said.
