State employees against reservation — under the banner of Sarvjan Hitaya Samrakshan Samiti — have written a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, requesting him to include a representation of employees to present their case about reservation in promotion at the All Party Meeting called by the PM on May 23.

State employees against reservation — under the banner of Sarvjan Hitaya Samrakshan Samiti — have written a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, requesting him to include a representation of employees to present their case about reservation in promotion at the All Party Meeting called by the PM on May 23.

The letter,by Shailendra Dubey, president of the Samiti, has demanded that since the matter of reservation in promotion deals with the employees, the latter should be given a chance to present their case as well.

According to a press release issued by the Samiti,Dubey has said in his letter that the debate in the Rajya Sabha on reservation in promotion shows that the MPs were not well aware of the decision of the Supreme Court which has actually restored seniority and superiority in promotion rather than caste. He said any tampering with the SC decision will be an attempt to tamper with the Constitution.

The Samiti has also decided to send a copy of the letter to the presidents of all national parties and to give a memorandum to all the MPs from UP for the same.
