An FIR has been lodged against state Mining Minister Gayatri Prasad Prajapati, State Women Commission Chairperson Zarina Usmani and six others on the complaint of social activist Nutan Thakur, who had accused them of “framing” her and her husband in false cases.
Thakur had claimed that Prajapati and others of tried to frame her and her husband Amitabh Thakur, an IPS officer, in false cases including those of rape, after she had filed a complaint with the Lokayukta against the minister.
She had alleged that she was first threatened to stay away from the complaint and later, an attempt was made to implicate her and Amitabh Thakur in false complaints of rape that were presented before the state women commission by “unknown women”.
On the basis of her complaint, an FIR was lodged under sections including 420 (offenses related to cheating) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) of the IPC at Gomti Nagar police station on June 20. Confirming the development,
Trans-Gomti ASP Mani Ram said the FIR was lodged on the basis of Thakur’s complaint. “Thakur, who had filed a petition in the CJM court under section 156(3) of the CrPC appealing that an FIR be lodged in the matter, was on Thursday informed that the FIR has already been lodged in the matter,” he added.
