Even as the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) failed to strike gold at Daundiya Kedha, disciples of Shobhan Sarkar, the sadhu who had claimed the presence of treasure in the ruins of Raja Rao Ram Bux Singh’s fort, decided to excavate the treasure themselves. Armed with JCB machines, the disciples, under the leadership of Shri Om,a disciple of Sarkar, reached the fort to dig the treasure Thursday.

The administration, however, refused to allow the team to carry out any excavation with Sri Om and his disciples forced to return from the site.
